My issues start when you get to a certain point of the beta. Many times sneakily in the middle of the night from around 11PM - 5AM on weeknights with my parents asleep in our living room. I am at a loss.I like D3 a lot (LVL 1100+) Now, at the beginning of the game, the cinematic was AMAZING, Graphics are superb. Played hundreds and hundreds of hours of Diablo 2 and LoD when I was in high school. Act 1 was very strong but it really fell off after that I feel. I had plans of getting stuff done around the house over last weekend but ended up watching a ton of streamers and let's plays of Diablo 4 instead. Going to blow the dust off my i5 2500K (thing is immortal I swear), 32 Gb DDR3, GTX 960 2 GB (lol), SSD desktop and see if I can run this thing at all next weekend. I’m not sure what a realistic expectation would be for the context of D4’s development, but the current experience is quite flat and uninteresting when contrasted against the open world format. So far the only real change that happens are the strongholds but those are a ‘one and done’ that don’t shake anything up versus just unlocking more of the same stuff. That helps provide variety in combat and mechanical encounters even if you’re in the same spot / area, can help flesh out the lore, and makes the world feel more like a living place that constantly changes even when you’re not ‘there’. Obviously its an issue of budget and resources which they can’t really afford to throw at it, but I would have loved to see even a basic facsimile of the more organic/immersive cycles that you see in recent MMOs (or even Guild Wars 2) where you have revolving ‘phases’ of the environment/zone. ![]() Survive and conquer darkness – or succumb to the shadows.The open world activities seem to be quite static / repetitive I was hoping for more of an evolution of the bounty system of D3 but it’s pretty much just that.
